Wireless Network Design Wireless network performance is very dependant on the environmental variables at the location of the deployment. Everything from the type of building material (concrete or wood), the thickness of the concrete between floors, the shape of the building, interfering signal and availability of suitable placement for the Access Points all play a very important role in the design of the system. All these factors are determined in the initial site survey that is performed by our staff. Most of the wireless network shortcomings are due poor placement of Access Points and uncontrolled RF distribution. The design phase has to not only provide coverage in terms of signal but should also be able to accommodate the usage needs that the system is to provide. It should account for the number of users and the applications that will be demanding bandwidth from the network. A network designed today with scalability in mind, will prove to be cost effective tomorrow.
